TEAK DECK REPLACEMENT
Hallberg Rassy 43E
Chris fitted a new Teak deck on a legendary 43ft Swedish Hallberg Rassy yacht in Port Chalmers. The old Teak deck was 30 years old and wearing thin. The new Teak deck was prefabricated at ThermaDura during the holiday period.
The new teak deck gives "Onca" its character back and she is now in a condition to sail for at least another 30 years.
Further work involved was replacing the hull fittings with solid Bronze fittings from the USA, Osmosis treatment, barrier coating and coppercoating the hull. The yacht was also equipment with new B&G electronics from the UK.

SOLID TIMBER GLOBES
Personal globes
Building furniture with globes is a passion for Chris. The solid timber globes are made of NZ Rimu, Silver beech or Canadian Maple.
The process of making the globes was invented by right here. This involves steam bending the timber continents into the 3d globe shape and inlaying them.
The globes were made with different stands depending on the design required.
